St Stephen’s Nursery School
Currently managed by the Maisha Foundation. The nursery provides basic education, food and water FREE to over 60 Children in the slums of Nakuru. It encourages Early Childhood Development programmes that provide a strong start for a better life for the kids in the community.
Despite our best efforts, there are times when relationships will break down and children unfortunately will suffer. In the poorest of circumstances it is not surprising to find that extreme social problems exist. Violence, alcoholism and substance abuse are common reasons for our children to end up on the streets. We encourage the children to plant their own flowers and vegetables in the shamba, and we hope soon we can have a fresh refurbishment and rebuild.
We would like to thank the Anglican Church in Nakuru for accepting to share this plot with us. We felt having a well established, secure, safe church onsite would prove to be an asset to both the overall community and to our children, and we are proud this has turned out to be the case. Any donation of any value given to help keep this nursery running will be appreciated.
